Flex übernimmt Premiummarke SCHRAMM

Die Flex Bedding Group (Flex), die führende spanische Bettwarengruppe mit einer mehr als 110-jährigen Geschichte, gibt die Übernahme von SCHRAMM, Deutschlands führendem Hersteller von Luxusmatratzen und -betten, bekannt. Die Transaktion umfasst auch den Hauptsitz des Unternehmens in Winnweiler, Rheinland-Pfalz.

Das 1923 gegründete Unternehmen SCHRAMM befindet sich im Besitz der Gründerfamilie und ist eine international anerkannte Marke für die Herstellung und den Vertrieb handgefertigter Matratzen aus natürlichen Materialien. Das Unternehmen, das rund 185 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt, ist auf dem mitteleuropäischen Markt - Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz - tätig, dem größten des Alten Kontinents, sowohl in Bezug auf die Bevölkerung als auch auf die Kaufkraft. Für das Jahr 2022 erwartet SCHRAMM einen Umsatz von 30 Millionen Euro.

Derzeit macht Flex 40 % seines Umsatzes im Premium Geschäftsbereich, zu dem weltweit bekannte Marken wie ES Kluft in den USA und Vispring in Großbritannien gehören. Dieser Geschäftsbereich ist für die Gruppe nicht nur wegen seiner Rentabilität von strategischer Bedeutung, sondern auch, weil der Luxusmarkt derjenige mit dem größten Wachstumspotenzial und der größten Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber konjunkturellen Höhen und Tiefen ist.

Bei dieser Transaktion wurde Flex von Impulsa Capital finanziell beraten, während die Anwaltskanzleien Escalona & De Fuentes und Noerr als Rechtsberater tätig waren.

Founded in 1923, SCHRAMM is owned by the founding family and is an internationally recognized brand for manufacturing and marketing handcrafted mattresses made from natural materials. The company, which employs around 185 people, operates in the Central European market -Germany, Austria, Switzerland- the largest in the Old Continent, both in terms of population and purchasing power. In 2022, SCHRAMM expects to achieve a turnover of 30 million Euro.

For Rafael González, Chief Executive Officer of Flex, "the acquisition of SCHRAMM fits perfectly with our corporate development strategy and allows us to strengthen our position in the Premium segment, in which we are global leaders, and will account for 50% of our turnover next year. In addition, it is a very attractive company both for its profitability and its capacity for growth and innovation".

Currently, 40% of Flex's sales come from its Premium division, which has globally recognized brands such as ES Kluft in the USA and Vispring in the UK. This line of business is strategic for the group not only because of its profitability but also because the luxury market is the one with the greatest capacity for growth and the greatest resistance to economic ups and downs.
